Dear Patient,

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your health and safety.

Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. To keep patients and our team members safe, New Smile Dental follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the US. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control
procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations.

As we all adapt to control the Coronavirus, we want you to share with you the newly implemented steps New Smile Dental has taken to protect you as well as our team. We will communicate with you prior to your next appointment to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office. You may see that our waiting room no longer offers magazines, beverages and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect. Upon arrival, we will take your temperature and have you keep your mask on until we are ready to work on you. We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients and you may have to wait in the car. We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to eliminate the number of patients in the waiting room. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.

In addition, New Smile Dental will be fogging our operatories after each patient with Hypochlorous acid. Hypochlorous acid is a weak acid, produced when electrolyzed water is mixed with salt. While it is an all-natural, non-toxic and non-hazardous solution to humans, it is 99.99% effective against viruses, bacteria, and has been used in hospitals, food supply chains, restaurants and grocery stores for decades. Along with fogging, we have installed 3 new Hepa air-filtration systems in the office and began using UV light machines to clean the air as well as our equipment. We will also be using Isolite, an intra oral device that aims to reduce most of the aerosols during procedures.

After taking these steps and retraining our team members, we are happy to announce that New Smile Dental will reopen on Monday, May 18th. Please email us at NewsmileDentalVisit@gmail.com to let us know you would like to schedule and appointment and briefly describe the nature of your concern. With a high number of patients needing to schedule , we ask for your patience and understanding while we will give priority to those with urgent needs If you need to reach us immediately, Please call 858-268-3036 or text us at 858-775-4624.

Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors and friends.

Sincerely,
Dr. An Nguyen
